Pupils aged 16 and 17 presented their historical investigation through a theatre show. They related the life of Francis Reiss, deported by convoy 77 and their research about him and about the historical context of World War II.
During their original show, they made a stack of clothes as the artist Christian Boltanski does. They also read names of the 1 310 deported people of the convoy.
Pupils were very involved in this project. They start their play explaining they wanted to show history is more than numbers. Marie-Hélène Reiss, daughter of the deportee Francis Reiss, was very proud of the pupils work. She underlined : “every detail saved from oblivion is extremely precious”.
