Convoi 77 reflects on a year of activity in Poland

Convoi 77 fait le bilan d'une année d'activité en Pologne

On January 27th, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a meeting dedicated to the activities of Convoi 77 took place in Poland.

This meeting was organised and hosted by Aleksandra Engler Malinowska, Convoi 77’s coordinator in Poland, in order to emphasize the work accomplished by Polish students and professors throughout the 2019-2020 school year. During this time, six biographies were published by schools located in the towns of Lublin, Zamosc, Radomsko, Poznan and Wloclawek.

Around fifty people attended the meeting. Among them were : Magdalena Turowska, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Education; Georges Diener, Cultural Cooperation Advisor and Director of the French Institute in Poland; Fabienne Ricordel, cooperation attache at the French Institute in Poland; Arkadiusz Walczak, Director of Warsaw Centre for Education and Social Innovations and Trainings; Monika Koszyńska, Chief specialist in Education at POLIN, Museum of the History of Polish Jews; Anna Przybyszewska-Drozd, Head of Genealogical Department of the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw; Grażyna Wiśniewska, Deputy Director of the Centre for Education Development; Tomasz Madej, Acting Director of the Centre for Education Department; Dr Adam Sitarek, member of the Centre of Jewish Studies at University of ŁÓDŹ; and Georges Mayer, President of Convoi 77.

The teachers and pupils who contributed to the Convoi 77 project were awarded diplomas attesting to their participation, to be delivered to them by post.
